The Joint Council of Allergy & Immunology was established in May, 1975, as the socio-economic/political advocate of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. JCAAI's purpose is to provide a mechanism for keeping allergists/immunologists abreast of the critical socio-economic issues which impact upon their practices. The JCAAI represents allergy/immunology in federal and state regulatory and governmental agencies, the Congress, in areas of reimbursement, and in other socio-economic areas where appropriate. JCAAI serves as a single voice in these areas representing the specialty of allergy/immunology.

The JCAAI represents approximately 4200 allergists.

Town Hall Meetings

As we receive updated announcements of Town Hall Meetings, we are adding them to the beginning of this list. You can note the date on the right side of the list to see if any have been added since the last time you checked.

JCAAI urges you to continue to write to your Representatives, even if you’ve written before.

JCAAI has provided links where you can obtain email addresses to contact your Senate and House representatives for your letter writing campaign.  NOW is the time for your voice to be heard!

Physician Compare Website

Health Care Reform (HCR) required CMS to develop a “Physician Compare” website by January 1, 2011. CMS did meet the deadline, although the website did have initial problems; not every physician could find their individual listing. The site allows individuals to search for a physician or other healthcare provider by specialty; type of profession; or location. It provides information on physician education, hospital affiliation and other medically related information. All of the information is from the Internet-based Provider Enrollment Chain and Ownership System (PECOS) - which is why it is very important for you to keep your Medicare enrollment information up to date. That enrollment must be in PECOS and if you have not yet enrolled in PECOS, you can find enrollment information by following this link https://pecos.cms.hhs.gov. You should check your personal information posted on the “Physician Compare” website - www.medicare.gov/find-a-doctor/provider-search.aspx - to make certain it is accurate; telephone support is 866-288-8912; online support email is qnetsupport@sdps.org
